spiritual battles in real life

Things have been incredibly crazy here the past few weeks. Until yesterday it was just the normal Holiday and Birthday busyness that happens here every year. Yesterday things should have been quieting down. Ed and Sue are heading back to NY Saturday morning and their family was to leave this morning. Then Thursday morning, Ed fell down the stairs and broke his foot in 3 places. His right foot -no driving. Thursday night we get a call at 9pm -the formal dining room, silver room, main hall and an upstairs bathroom are totally flooded. A toilet overflowed and kept running. Estimated damage.. $15,000! Ed and Sue are still planning to leave tomorrow morning. Their son stayed to drive them to NY and will fly home from there. The extra week Dale was supposed to have off to make up for all the extra hours worked in the past month -canceled. Plans to enjoy some quiet evenings -gone. So incredibly thankful for this job and yet finding ourselves a touch overwhelmed with the attacks right now. I keep praying that the spiritual battle we seem to be caught up in means that there is change happening intheir hearts. That maybe -just maybe- this is all because the enemy doesnt want to let them go. It is so obviously spiritual and we are all praying its a good thing. Still -the battle can be exhausting.
